Name ideas?

Since we haven't picked out a name for baby boy, I usually call him "little buddy" or "little stinker". The kids love coming in and saying names to him and seeing what happens on the heart monitor. We definitely want to pick a name he'll approve of. A few we've considered are Romeo, Andrew and Timothy. We could use suggestions, boy names are really hard for us to come up with.

As I said, he is not a morning person already. We had some heart decelerations in the early morning today and had a good enough one about 8 am that had the nurse come in dropping the c word (c-section). But they said he'd have to have 4 of those in an hour to do that, so he started behaving better. The doctor said we'd still be hanging out awhile in labor and delivery for constant monitoring. I will be in the hospital until I deliver. They hope baby will be looking good enough to go to antipartum, where monitoring is only 3 times a day. With the broken water, they will deliver by 34 weeks. If the placenta is an issue, those babies usually deliver by 28 weeks. So getting to 28 weeks is a big goal for us, and anything beyond would be wonderful!

We had an ultrasound today to check the fluid. It is still really low, as expected. Baby was measuring about 1 pound and 13 ounces. That is 4 ounces bigger than last Saturday's ultrasound, so I was pleased. Just hang in there little buddy!

  2. I am so glad you have a blog so we can keep tabs on you once we move! Here are some name suggestions. These are names we didn't use for Ty. Londyn wanted Penguin. I wanted Easton. Jared liked Wyatt. And Tate liked Jack. I think I have a baby name book floating around somewhere but with the internet that is pretty pointless. There is always babynames.com too. Another place we looked was ancestral file. That is how we got Ty's middle name, Porter...from Jared's great grandpa. Best of luck choosing, though. It is stressful but fun. Thanks for the updates too.

  4. Keep up the good work, Andrea. Laying in that hospital bed for weeks on end was the hardest thing I ever had to do. AND the most worth it in the end! You might want to come up with a name that fits the drama your little guy has caused you without it being a naughty word:)

  5. Hey girl - it was good to see you today and hope the little man is still behaving. Obviously you're growing a stubborn night owl that's going to be a BEAR to wake up in the mornings! Keep that Faith, Andrea. Talk to him, sing to him, and love him . . . he can hear you and I have no doubt will be soothed by your words of wisdom! I know it's easy for all of us (living here in the outside world) to offer advice . . . but do your best to try to stay relaxed and keep unnecessary stress down - reserve that energy for the little man. Your kids are well cared for and so resilient. Chris is a brave, strong, competent man. And you have a troup of "sistas' around here who are ready to help out in any capacity with one quick text, blog, or call!

We took a family vote on names - and here are the results: Emma likes Jake (probably from the vampire series), Tucker likes Dominic, Teague likes Max, Kelby likes Scooter, and I like: Michelle's suggestions :) in addition to Maddox, Avery, Ty, Landon, Jared, and Andrew.

Keep pushing that call light and asking for milkshakes . . . and make sure they treat you like a princess.

  6. Love the blog idea! Don't love that you're in the hospital, though. Even though I love to see you, I hope you stay there are really, really long time....like 10+ weeks :)

As for names, we used most of our favorite boy names (Tyler, Aiden and Jackson), but we also liked: Connor (Jackson's name if he would have been a blond), James (Aiden's middle name), Owen, Joshua, Chase and Jacob. Good luck and thanks for starting the blog!

  7. Andrea,
So sorry to hear of your sitution, but I love your positive attitude! You will continue to be in our prayers and I hope things stay "boring" for a little while:)
I am in the opposite boat- trying and trying to come up with a GIRL name... 8 weeks to decide.
Andrew is at the TOP of my boy list, for what it's worth:)
I've checked out babynamer.com and the social security website to see popularity, etc...

  8. Andrea,
Hello, sweet Sister! I love your beautiful little family. I sat behind them last Sunday in Sacrament Meeting and so I had quite an opportunity to feel of their wonderful spirit. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I had Lexie write down my phone number so that Chris can call me if I can help in any way. I am available most any time, night or day - and I LOVE little Bailey dearly!! Please enourage him to keep me in mind. Isn't it wonderfully comforting to know that we are in the Lord's hands? He knows how to bless us best in any situation. We just need to remember that and "trust in Him with all our heart." I send my love -
    -Jan

  9. Hi Andrea,

I ran into Chris last weekend and heard the news. You are definitely in my prayers for the next however many weeks until this little guy arrives safe and sound.

David and I love to use family names from even way, way back. Maybe your ancestors have some fun names you would consider. Good luck staying in that bed--you are a good mommy taking care of this little guy. He already owes you big time =)
