This week is off to a good start! Each new week a new high risk pregnancy doctor is in the hospital. There are four of them and this morning I met the fourth. He wants to get a feel for baby and what our situation is, so we stayed put and have done some breaks in our monitoring. We go two hours on and two hours off. He is usually pretty active when I am off the monitor, which is a big peace of mind for me.
My mom came and brought Bailey this morning. I hadn't seen her since thursday, so I was needing it. She snuggled up next to me and we watched Dora and other cartoons. We both needed it. She turned towards me and wrapped her arm around my belly. The Cluffs came by for a visit and it was really fun to catch up on everything with them. My in-laws brought lunch and kept me company for awhile this afternoon. Can you see why it was such a good day? Chris brought Julie and Hunter this evening so it was really calm and enjoyable. Julie's birthday is Saturday and I keep stressing that they need to eat the cake up here with me. I think I made my point clear.

Still here
I am still in labor and delivery under constant monitoring thanks to a couple of low decelerations baby had yesterday afternoon. Nothing that exciting today. Yesterday my aunt Kim brought a fabulous lunch from Flatbread. She brought me some of their macaroni and cheese. A must try for anyone who has not had it! Bonnie Hamblin stopped by for a visit and to check up on us. Teresa and Rebecca visited during the afternoon and were here when baby had his decels. Chris brought in Chinese for dinner then we got to snuggle in the hospital bed to watch Secretariat. I know everyone loves that movie, but in my situation, I couldn't believe that a mom would voluntarily leave her kids. It's tough enough when you have to leave them.
Not much happened today. Baby has looked really good again. Chris, his parents and Bill and Sue came after dinner to visit. I am excited to see my kids tomorrow-it's been a couple of days.

Thursdays
Thursdays are something to celebrate because they are the day I am another week pregnant. 27 weeks today and holding on. Baby is having another good day. The doctor said today, if he holds steady another day or 2 they will take us off constant monitoring. Today has been great so far. I got a heavenly massage from JaNae (you wouldn't believe the knots you get in your neck and shoulders from just sitting around all day-maybe some is related to stress). My sis-in-law, Sue, brought Cafe Rio salads for lunch. Like I said, I'm hooked already. And today marks 2 weeks in the hospital. Non-hospital food is wonderful! One more week and we hit the big first goal of making it to 28 weeks. We can do it! Thanks for your prayers!

No news
Today was extremely uneventful. Baby did great all day. Chris went back to work and Chris' parents are on the road to our house. We are truly blessed and grateful for each pregnant day!

Good day
Baby boy had a good day today. He had 2 pretty good decelerations in his heart beat, both while I had visitors. Tiffani stopped by with Cafe Rio pork salad for us for lunch. I have to say that was a first for me, and I am hooked. Of course I have only had hospital food for 11 days, but still it was really good. Thanks Tiffani!
Chris and the kids stopped by tonight and I had Lexi pack an activity bag (color books, games, books) for the kids for while they were here. So tonight's visit was very pleasant! We try to do scriptures and prayer together when they are here in the evening. My girls had gone to the salon today and aunt Jenny had cut and styled their hair, so they were darling!

Little Stinker
Today would be one of those days we would refer to baby boy as little stinker. He had several decelerations today lasting into the afternoon. Doctors were keeping an eye on us. The high risk doctor came in tonight when Chris and the kids got here and asked Chris if he could help get his wife's ipad online here at the hospital. Tech support here hasn't been helpful. So they had a good chat and we hope Chris pointed him in the right direction for getting it to work. His wife is in the hospital with her 6th case of cancer!!! I didn't get all the details, as I took my turn trying to keep the kids behaving, which was exhausting for just an hour. His wife has pretty much been in the hospital 6 months of the last year with this episode. It is quite an amazing story. And it just goes to show, life could always be worse!
I think we have our names narrowed down to 2 choices. I let Chris and the kids go home and think about it. It would be very nice to pray for the little guy by name. So we'll let you know when we do.

Run aways?
Everything here in the hospital was good and uneventful yesterday. Baby had a super morning and we were all pleased. Doctor didn't have anything new to say, so there wasn't much to report. I sure love all the comments and suggestions for baby names. Thank you again for all your thoughts and prayers!
I was a little too emotional to write about things at home. I got a call from Chris after lunch. He wanted some neighbors phone numbers. Lexi was at a party, Bailey was napping, and the rest of this kids were outside with Chris. He was in the garage working on projects. When he realized the 3 kids weren't around, he started calling the neighbors to see if they'd gone into any of their houses. And he called me for some numbers. I kept reading my book and didn't think much about it. I wouldn't be surprised if they had gone to a neighbors or were in the field behind our house exploring. Chris called 20 minutes later and still couldn't find them. He couldn't just leave Bailey sleeping either. So I helped him figure out a neighbor to call to come over while he went to look. After an urgent prayer, I called my parents and next door neighbor to send them over. My mom called back and told me not to worry. Is that possible? So I settled back into my book and what should happen? The baby in the story gets kidnapped! What timing. I threw the book down and went back to just praying. After about another half an hour, Chris called and said the Hamblins had found them clear down the access canal road at an old barn. So were they just exploring or was it a run away attempt? I know when I was young like them, I probably would have tried to run away if my mom was MIA. I love my dad and all, but it'd just not the same as mom. Hang in there Chris- you are doing great. Reinforcements (Chris' parents) are coming in 2 days.

Name ideas?
Since we haven't picked out a name for baby boy, I usually call him "little buddy" or "little stinker". The kids love coming in and saying names to him and seeing what happens on the heart monitor. We definitely want to pick a name he'll approve of. A few we've considered are Romeo, Andrew and Timothy. We could use suggestions, boy names are really hard for us to come up with.
As I said, he is not a morning person already. We had some heart decelerations in the early morning today and had a good enough one about 8 am that had the nurse come in dropping the c word (c-section). But they said he'd have to have 4 of those in an hour to do that, so he started behaving better. The doctor said we'd still be hanging out awhile in labor and delivery for constant monitoring. I will be in the hospital until I deliver. They hope baby will be looking good enough to go to antipartum, where monitoring is only 3 times a day. With the broken water, they will deliver by 34 weeks. If the placenta is an issue, those babies usually deliver by 28 weeks. So getting to 28 weeks is a big goal for us, and anything beyond would be wonderful!
We had an ultrasound today to check the fluid. It is still really low, as expected. Baby was measuring about 1 pound and 13 ounces. That is 4 ounces bigger than last Saturday's ultrasound, so I was pleased. Just hang in there little buddy!

Baby boy loveland
It finally happened! The event that propelled us into becoming bloggers. Last Thursday I was admitted into the hospital at 25 weeks pregnant. Some complications led my doctor to do and ultrasound at an appointment that revealed that the fluid around the baby was really low. Low enough to think that my water is probably broken. If that isn't the case, then something is going on with the placenta. Either of the cases need monitoring and bed rest. Another ultrasound Friday had the doctors deciding to transport me to the downtown hospital with NICU. This ultrasound we found out that we are having a brother! We have been assuming a girl all these months, so that was fun. We are excited to be even-just call us the Brady Bunch.
After arriving downtown via ambulance, the high risk doctor thought my water was broken from my experiences the past few weeks. Saturday morning I started contracting and baby's heart beat had the doctor rushing to the hospital, doing a fast ultrasound on me, and placing me in labor and delivery. When I got there, Chris and Lee Hamblin, our neighbor and wonderful friend, arrived ready to administer a priesthood blessing. We talked with the doctor and the talk involved a possible emergency c-section that day. But after the blessing, everything calmed down. It was a miracle, and we feel so blessed. Every day we get is such a blessing.
I have remained in labor and delivery for constant monitoring. Baby boy doesn't seem to like mornings very much. But he is looking great from his heart tones and movement and plenty of hiccups. I am 26 weeks today. The doctor just keeps saying a few more days of monitoring to make sure everything is 100%. I have really appreciated the prayers, fasting, service to the family, visits and ideas of things to do while I have time on my hands.
